Paris and The Hiltons: Reading Journals

Hailing from Leamington Spa in the United Kingdom is Paris and The Hiltons. The album under my review is Reading Journals, that is based off the works of William Faulkner, an American writer and Nobel Prize laureate. The album mixes classical music and modern rock with an electronic sound. The tracks are a series of melodic piano tunes and face smacking beats from Sam Folkes which is blended with the gritty, but sometimes harmonious voice of Phil Jourdan, who also plays both the Bass and Guitar in every song. MIDWEST NOISE: Jordan Martyr

On January 20th, Occupy Movement Photographer Jeremy A. Smith and I tagged along to two different shows performed by Jordan Martyr(known more as Jordan Martin locally). The two shows took place in our hometown of Joplin, Missouri. The first was located within the local mall at a Vintage Stock franchise store, and the second at a bar known as The Keystone Lounge. The goal was to capture a day in the life of a Midwest musician trying to make it big in the middle of nowhere. Continue reading
